Junk foods – How to train your mind to hate them.

Junk foods – How to train your mind to hate them.

We are all addicted to different things. Some might seem positive, but the truth is, no addiction is good. From abusing drugs, down to the consumption of unhealthy food (also known as junk food), its no gainsaying that these different addictions usually have an adverse effect in or on our body. studies show that a lot of people crave unhealthy food. That is why you’ve got to know what you are putting in your mouth. These unhealthy cravings are designed to make sure that people out there find it difficult to fight the temptation.

These food manufacturers have devised a way to do that. How? By adding the sugar, fats, salts, coupled with some additives just to make sure you keep coming back for more. This is how people are enticed daily into consuming junk food.

Here is how to train yourself to hate junk food.

  • Know who you are.

The first way to go about training yourself to hate junk food is by understanding the fact that you are in control of your actions. Understand these thought process and habits. What do you crave for the most? Only you can answer perfectly. If it is eating fries or a lot of sugar, then you need to know how to go about quenching these cravings. Make sure you have the right answer to this. Lastly, you need to find a way to take your mind off these things.

  • What’s the plan?

What’s your plan? How do you want to go about it? Do you have answers to these questions? What are they? With the right game plan, you can hardly get it wrong. This plan should include actions you intend to take to cub this habit from destroying you. Your plan should also have an eating scheme which will help you stay away from junk foods.

  • Intention meets will: a perfect way to stop eating junk food

It’s one thing to have the intention, but another to have the willingness to get it done. Have all the plans in the world to stop this habit (and any other habit), if you don’t have the zeal to get things done, you will be moving in circles. You can start by getting rid of things in the kitchen which may trigger these cravings. Anything that can be termed junk should be taken off the shelf, fridge, and kitchen. Trust me, that’s a good way to start.

  • Taking your time to eat makes you eat less.

It might sound weird to know that taking the time to eat tends to make you eat less. This also includes junk food. According to science, the time you spend chewing your food helps to elongate the total number of minutes you spend eating. Strange right? But that’s true. About 20 minutes from the time you start eating, your stomach would have given a sign of fullness. Once you can pass this test, it will change your eating habit drastically.

  • Know what you consume – Junk foods are what they are.

This only makes sense. The simplest thing to do is learn more about diets and what you consume generally. Start by watching online videos. You will be shocked by the facts you will unravel when you decide to know more about the junk food you consume daily. There are lots of ‘gross’ facts out there.

We all know how difficult it is to stop an addiction, especially eating junk food. But, knowing what it will do to you, you’ve got no choice but to start fighting it right now.
