Kindness – Don’t be too harsh on yourself.
No doubt, the world is an unforgiving vacuum. It is a place where the strongest persons are brought down and where the weak are quashed. A rat – raced place where things move so fast and won’t wait for you to get up when you fall behind. Our zeal is bruised and hammered daily, so you have to be sharp and stay strong no matter what. You need to show yourself a whole lot of kindness.
We sometimes find ourselves in unwanted spots, but we don’t have to beat ourselves up. I have created a list that will help you when you feel like giving up when you feel like bashing yourself for taking unfavorable decisions. You need to be kind to yourself, here are ways to go about it.
Ways to be kind to yourself.
Have a “me” time.
I once called a friend of mine, after trying to reach her for about 2 days, I later got a text from her telling me should won’t be able to pick ‘any’ call because she’s trying to enjoy her me time. For me, that’s impressive. We all need to have my time. check your schedule, put all your activities on one side, choose a day to take care of yourself. Remember, life is too short, work and enjoy your life.
The little pep talk you give yourself go a long way. “I can do this”, “I know I am a great person”, “I can do whatever I put my mind to”. As subtle as these might sound, they have a way of changing your mood positively, changing the trajectory of your mentality from South upward. One of the best times to do this is when you wake up in the morning. Stand in front of the mirror and say these words to yourself.
Choose your friend wisely.
The people you surround yourself with play a major role in determining how empowered you become. Do these guys speak positively about you? according to Jim Rohn, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” When you feel down, surround yourself with people that can lift you mentally and emotionally. When you are down, these guys will lift you. But will you be willing to let them pick you up?
take time out to Walk!
Whenever I am in a bad mood, I usually go for a walk. Breath in the air, witness nature unfolds in front of you. When you are out there, listen to sounds, watch the bike man give passenger her balance, the woman selling pepper, and the birds chirping. If you can, you should also try taking a walk in the rain.
Do you take time out to read? Do you even read at all? Reading is the perfect substitute for music. If you are not into listening to music, reading should be your go-to substitute. Reading helps you relax. Immerse yourself in a book. Anytime you are down, pick up a book and read. Trust me, it works.
